Popis: | Long term impacts of participative planning processes can only be fully assessed after a long time period. But concomitant research often concentrates only on the project period or a short time afterwards. One of the few exceptions is the pilot project “Income maintenance through village tourism” carried out between 1993 and 1995 by the German Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forestry and whose success was analysed twice: from 1995 to 1998 as well as from 2005 to 2009. Thereby the main focus was put on tourism development. All in all, the article focuses strongly on the practice of participative planning rather than on its theoretical advancement. After a brief introduction of the research methodology and the model project, empirical results are presented, showing that the original aims for touristic development were not reached.
