Popis: | A new paramagnetic termetallocene, di([5]trovacenyl-tetramethyl-η5-cyclopentandienyl)iron (3 ), has been prepared via the reaction of [5]trovacenyllithium with 2,3,4,5-tetramethylcyclopenten-1-one, followed by hydrolysis with water, lithiation with n-BuLi and then with Fe2Cl4(THF)3 at ambient temperature. 3 has been characterized by mass spectra and elemental analysis. The investigation of 3 by means of cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electronic paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy indicates that the substituted ferrocene as a spacer significantly weakened the intramolecular metal–metal interaction. For comparison, the reaction of [5]trovacenyllithium with bicyclo [2.2.1] hept-2-en-7-one afforded [5]trovacenyl-1-(anti)-7-hydroxybicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-ene-7yl (4 ) after hydrolysis, which has been characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis and electrochemistry. |
