Popis: | Protein differences among internodal stem explants that were determined for either shoot regeneration or callus growth were studied by sodium dodecylsulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and two dimensional PAGE. Three 32-kDa proteins with pI values of approximately 6.5–7.5 were detected only in callus inducing (CIM) and shoot inducing (SIM) treatments for which high levels of adventitious shoot regeneration were observed. A 35-kDa protein of approximately p I 7.0 was observed only in the CIM/SIM treatments which resulted in callus determined growth. These proteins may serve as markers to be used to characterize further the molecular events associated with the transition from competence for shoot regeneration to callus determined growth. |
