This chapter describes the past, present, and future research trajectory of CRPP and the Office of Education Research at NIE Singapore. It includes the aims and initiatives in supporting the education-research-practice nexus, providing for high quality learning/classroom/school environments and for teachers-as-designers and teachers-as-facilitators of high quality interactions, and, in the process, heightening learner’s capacity to learn and to deliver high quality education. In order to stay relevant, progressive, and futuristic, we juxtapose the Science of Learning, the Science of Systems, and Learning Sciences to highlight ways that we can address the gaps in our education system in a systematic fashion. Besides creating the space and context for better understanding of factors, designs, physiological, and behavioral mechanisms to enable all learners to succeed, we hope to scale up, spread, and sustain these learning Initiatives as a whole living laboratory for the future of education. |
