Popis: | The deformation behavior of the dentin in intact human teeth is studied during diametral compression in air, water, and a 18% aqueous solution of NaCl. The deformation behavior of the dentin during diametral compression is shown to change from quasi-brittle during tests in air to viscoelastic during tests in water and the aqueous solution of NaCl. In all cases, a main crack in the dentin develops as in a viscoelastic material, i.e., via microcrack coalescence. |
