Popis:	Proteins precipitated by acetone from an aqueous extract of Trichosanthes kirilowii root tubers contained abortifacient and erythroagglutinating activities. The abortifacient protein was unadsorbed while the erythroagglutinins were adsorbed on DEAE-Sepharose equilibrated nd eluted with 0.02 M NH4HCO3 containing 0.1 M NaCl. The erythroagglutinins eluted from the ion exchanger were further fractionated on Lacto-gel and subsequently on Concanavalin A-Sepharose to yield three lectins.
