The study aims to investigate the effect of interactive reading practices with the role of the teacher on 4th-grade students’ reading comprehension success. Unlike traditional interactive reading, in the study, interactive reading was preferred with the role of the teacher directing the student's reading process. In this study, a quasi-experimental design was preferred. The study was conducted with 50 4th grade students attending a public school in Istanbul. "Reading Comprehension Achievement Test" developed by Tavşanlı (2014) was used as a data collection tool in this study. The normality and t-tests were used for the data analysis. The results of current research show that interactive reading practices with the role of teacher positively affect and support the reading comprehension achievement of primary school 4th-grade students. Directions for future research and implications for practice are discussed. |
