Popis: | Due to the development of various new applications, considering the high mobility and dynamic network topology routing protocol design has become an important research challenge in vehicular ad hoc networks. The real-time road evaluation processes are based on generating and forwarding collector packets from one road end to another. This paper proposes a new algorithm called geographical zone-based cluster head for routing that formulates routing decision based on vehicular velocity, density, buffer queue length, and link lifetime. This algorithm suppresses the overhead occurrence in the collector packet generation in lightweight intersection-based traffic-aware routing. Instead of generating collector packet in all nodes in the zone, cluster head sends collector packet, when the nodes in zone leave from current road to intersection. The performance evaluation of the proposed algorithm shows better results in terms of packet delay, collision rate, packet delivery ratio and routing load as compared to lightweight intersection-based traffic-aware routing and intersection-based connectivity-aware routing. |
