Popis: The basic stereologic formulae which allow to determine the characteristic densities of a system of convex bodies in the three-dimensional euclidian space (density of volume, surface, integral of mean curvature) and those of a system of simply connected domains in the two-dimensional euclidian plane (density of area, length of the boundaries) are derived with the help of Integral Geometry. It is shown how one can determine the density of the number of particles in these systems counting the particles in a sample and their sections on its boundary.
