Popis: | Electrochemical characterization of a lecithin liquid membrane formed using cellulose acetate as substrate has been attempted on the basis of membrane potential and conductivity measurements. A cellulose acetate film kept in contact with magnesium chloride solutions of different concentration and pH exhibits anion selectivity. Counter-ion transport numbers estimated on the basis of membrane potential data have been used to obtain permselectivity and fixed charge density values for the cellulose acetate film in the absence or presence of the lecithin liquid membrane. The variation of these membrane parameters with concentration and pH has also been examined. |
