Características epidemiológicas, clínicas e tratamento ofertado a jovens com acidente vascular cerebral

Popis: Introduction : The Cerebral Vascular Accident (STROKE) is growing among the young by the exposure of this population to the classical risk factors. Objective : To detect the characteristics of epidemiological, clinical and treatment offered to young people with a cerebral vascular accident in a public referral hospital in Fortaleza. Methodology : Research type documentary, and cross-cutting field, with quantitative approach, developed in the period from June to October 2018, at the Geral Hospital Dr. Waldemar Alcântara (HGWA). The information was collected from medical records of patients between the ages of 15 and 29 years of age, who have had STROKE in the past seven years. Results : We reviewed 18 medical records of young people who have had STROKE between December of 2011 to May of 2018 admitted in the sector of neurology at the hospital. The profile that stands out is of women, with a mean of 25.6 ± 2.8 years of age. Ischemic STROKE was more frequent. The risk factors prevalent were: systemic arterial hypertension, cardiovascular disease, sedentary lifestyle and family history. The main clinical features described were: dysarthria, hemiparesis, and hemiplegia. The average time of hospitalization was between 15 to 30 days. Conduct therapy recorded were procedures in order to recover the function in respiratory and mobility impairment. Conclusion : We Could conclude that the ischemic STROKE is the most common, and most affected among young people, women with hypertension, heart disease, sedentary and family history. This theme still needs to be researched, because this study has a limited sample being need to zoom in more hospital units to understand the actual situation of the STROKE early in the Fortaleza
