Far infrared absorption, vibrational spectra and structure of tetrafluoro-1,3-dithietane

Popis:	Infrared and Raman spectra of tetrafluoro-1,3-dithietane have been recorded and a complete vibrational analysis carried out. It is concluded from the lack of coincident frequencies that the molecule has a center of symmetry and belongs to the point group D2h. The observed frequencies are assigned to the eighteen normal vibrations of this point group. The puckering vibration of the four-membered ring, observed at 60 cm−1, appears to be harmonic or nearly so.
