Popis: | The immediate effects of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) on left ventricular function were assessed by serial hemodynamic and scintigraphic (Sc) measurements obtained before operation, immediately (I to 5 hours), and up to 3 days after operation in 30 patients. Multiple gated Sc ejection fractions (EF) were obtained in 23 of the 30 patients by means of Sc camera, computer, and in vitro tagged red blood cells. Surgical techniques included use of systemic hypothermia (20° to 28° C.) and intermittent aortic cross-clamping without chemical cardioplegia. One patient had a perioperative myocardial infarction. Cardiac index decreased immediately after operation (2.41 ± 0.08, mean ± S.E.M., to 2.12 ± 0.07 L./min./M.2, p |
