Popis: | The effects of sub-acute administration of triiodothyronine (T3) on acute toxicity of lithium and body temperature were investigated in male Sprague-Dawley rats. T3 in doses of 0.1 and 1.0 mg/kg when given intraperitoneally once daily for six days increased the toxicity of acute lithium administration. The hypothermic effect of lithium, on the other hand, was prevented by sub-acute administration of T3. Thus, on acute toxicity, lithium and T3 were synergistic while on the temperature, they were antagonists. |
