INCREASED KNOWLEDGE RELATED TO HYPERTENSION AND DIABETES MELLITUS AS WELL AS DEMONSTRATION OF BALANCED NUTRITION \IN THE ELDERLY IN TABUMELA VILLAGE

Popis: Indonesia menghadapi masalah dalam pembangunan kesehatan, yaitu beban ganda penyakit infeksius dan penyakit tidak menular.Penanggulangan masalah hipertensi dan Diabetes Melitus di Indonesia meliputi upaya promotif, preventif, kuratif dan rehabilitatif yang dilaksanakan berdasarkan pedoman berbasis bukti (Evidence Based Medicine).Kebaruan dalam penelitian ini adalah melakukan peningkatan pengetahuan terkait hipertensi dan diabetes mellitus serta demonstrasi gizi seimbang pada lansia di Desa Tabumela. Tujuan kegiatan ini sebagai bentuk upaya peningkatan pengetahuan terkait hipertensi dan diabetes melitus serta demonstrasi gizi seimbang pada lansia.Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan ialah melalui penyuluhan dan pemeriksaan kesehatan.Kegiatan penyuluhan melalui pemberian materi dengan metode ceramah serta diskusi, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pemeriksaan tekanan darah dan pemeriksaan gula darah, serta demonstrasi isi piringku. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan hasil bahwa pre test peserta dengan pengetahuan baik mengalami peningkatan dari 9 orang menjadi 18 orang pada post test. peserta dengan pengetahuan cukup sebanyak 13 orang turun menjadi 7 orang pada hasil post test dan peserta dengan pengetahuan kurang sebanyak 3 orang turun menjadi 0 orang pada hasil post test. hasil pemeriksaan tekanan darah terdapat 18 orang dengan tekanan darah normal dan 7 orang dengan tekanan darah tinggi. Hasil pemeriksaan kadar gula darah terdapat 22 orang dengan kadar gula darah normal dan 3 orang dengan kadar gula darah tinggi dan dari 25 sasaran semuanya sudah mempraktekkan pengolahan makanan untuk pencegahan hipertensi dan Diabetes Melitus. Kesimpulan kegiatan ini terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan terkait diabetes melitus dan hipertensi pada lansia dan bertambahnya pengetahuan mengenai kegiatan demonstrasi gizi guna memenuhi gizi seimbang pada lansia.Kata Kunci: Diabetes Melitus; Hipertensi; Lansia.AbstractIndonesia is facing a problem in health development, namely the double burden of infectious and non-communicable diseases. The management of hypertension and diabetes mellitus in Indonesia includes promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative efforts, which are carried out based on evidence-based guidelines (Evidence-Based Medicine). Novelty in this study is to increase knowledge related to hypertension and diabetes mellitus as well as a demonstration of balanced nutrition for the elderly in Tabumela Village. The purpose of this activity is a form of effort to increase knowledge related to hypertension and diabetes mellitus as well as the demonstration of balanced nutrition in the elderly. The implementation method used is through counseling and health checks. Blood sugar, as well as a demonstration of the contents of my plate. The results of the service showed that the pre-test of participants with good knowledge increased from 9 people to 18 people in the post-test. Participants with sufficient knowledge, as many as 13 people, decreased to 7 people on the results of the post-test, and participants with less knowledge, as many as 3 people, decreased to 0 people on the results of the post test. The results of blood pressure checks were 18 people with normal blood pressure and 7 people with high blood pressure. The results of examining blood sugar levels showed that there were 22 people with normal blood sugar levels and 3 people with high blood sugar levels, and all of the 25 targets had practiced food processing to prevent hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus. The conclusion of this activity is that there is an increase in knowledge related to diabetes mellitus and hypertension in the elderly and an increase in knowledge about nutrition demonstration activities in order to fulfill balanced nutrition in the elderly.
