Our study aims to understand better the predictors that influence eyewitness identifications, specifically cross-race situations. While the Cambridge Face Memory Test (CFMT-original) and yes/no, old/new paradigms have been used extensively to investigate the cross-race effect (CRE), it is not yet known how performance on the face memory tests predicts lineup decisions using a mock crime lineup. To do so, we will investigate the predictive powers of the CFMT-Chinese test (McKone et al., 2012), the Stirling Face Recognition Scale (SFRS; Bobak, Mileva & Hancock, 2017), and our developed self-report scale of general face recognition ability on identification accuracy from same-race and cross-race lineups. |
