Popis: This chapter discusses the complexity and interaction of the factors driving the unintended consequences of hipo programs and processes, including a review of adult learning theories underpinning hipo programs, hipo leadership frameworks, the performance outcomes of hipo programs, and two categories of management thinking errors. The chief criticisms of andragogy, self-directed learning (SDL), and experiential learning are that each of them is too rational, autonomous, and linear; and for experiential learning specifically, learners do not necessarily move around the cycle systematically. The BluePrint is a multidimensional framework that includes three levels or types of dimensions and six building blocks that reflect the skills and abilities comprising leadership potential. The research indicates that organizations willing to invest in robust hipo programs realize impressive financial and workforce performance outcomes. National surveys indicate that the average size of the hipo pool across industries is approximately 10%.
