Popis: | A case oBiopsies were taken with an Olympus GIF esophagogastroscope from the stomach, the glandular mucosa of the esophagus below the ulcer, and from squamous epithelial-lined mucosa above the ulcer. Glandular mucosal biopsies from the esophagus, which had fundal type mucosa also, showed gastric fundal type pepsinogens by agar gel electrophoresis zymogram. The squamous mucosa above the lesion showed no proteolytic bands by this technique. Biopsies from the midesophagus of 5 control subjects did not reveal any pepsinogens on agar gel electrophoresis. |
