Popis: The aquatic environment is subject to deleterious changes, mostly derived from anthropogenic activities. Among these changes, pollution with heavy metals prevails. Heavy metals, including cadmium, lead and copper, exert a wide range of pathological effects on fish and other aquatic organisms (Dethlefsen and Tiews, 1985; Mallatt, 1985).
