Magnetic and optical properties of Zn1−xCoxO thin films prepared by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition

Popis: | Polycrystalline Zn 1− x Co x O ( x =0, 0.02, 0.06) thin films have been synthesized by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD). The structural, optical, and magnetic properties of the films were investigated. It is shown from X-ray analyses that all the films have wurtzite structure. In photoluminescence (PL) spectra, near band edge (NBE) emissions were observed in all of the films with a blue shift with the increase of Co content. The results from both the X-ray and PL spectra analysis reveal that Co ions substitute for the Zn 2+ ions of the ZnO matrix. The field dependence and temperature dependence of magnetization demonstrate that the Zn 1− x Co x O film materials are ferromagnetic with Curie temperature over 300 K. |
