Popis: The Stripa project, which took place in the late 1970s and early 1980s, involved a series of in situ experiments with the objective of investigating the mechanical and hydrogeological behavior of granitic rocks — in the context of their potential to host a radioactive waste repository. The historical and scientific aspects of the project are reviewed here with the emphasis on Neville Cook’s contribution to the work.
