Substrate-integrated waveguide refers to a planar transmission line with parallel metallic vias to inherit the advantages of waveguide. It compliments the merits of both planar and waveguide technologies to some extent. Manufacturing of waveguide is difficult and it is bulky. Microstrip devices are lossy and it has less power handling capability. Small size, less weight, better power handling capability and easy manufacturing are the salient features of SIW technology. In this paper, a review of SIW filters is presented which were designed using SIW technology. |
