A Time Domain Reflectometer (TDR) with rise time of 5ns is developed using a Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO) of 200MHz having data storing capacity of 2000 data points for a single waveform. This TDR is used to calculate the Velocity of Propagation (VOP) in a transmission line and if any impedance mismatches due to addition of any other transmission line. The proposed paper explains the system accuracy by calculating the VOP of different transmission lines and the distance of impedance mismatch from the place where the new transmission line is added. |
