Popis: | Second order nonlinearity vanishes for centrosymmetric materials in the dipole approximation. For metamaterial this means second-harmonic-generation is negligible in highly symmetric meta-atoms. We show a new type of meta-atom in which the dipolar approximation breaks down. |
