Popis: This chapter provides a meta-analysis of all eleven hypotheses presented in Chapter 1, holistically with all ten cases. Assessing findings across the ten cases permits tests of factors that only vary across cases, which are expected to make candidate gender a more or less important attribute in leadership templates: incorporation of women into government, national policy agenda, electoral rules, parliamentary v. presidential democracy. Multiple aspects of the analysis robustly indicate party is more important than gender in candidate evaluations. Young adults’ views that women are capable leaders are not driven only by positive evaluations from female participants; both male and female participants typically give favorable scores to women candidates. In addition, gender stereotypes do not restrict women politicians to stereotypically feminine policy areas, and lack of information about a policy can but does not typically trigger gender schema usage to judge the ability of candidates.
