Popis: | A few years before the second world war I was acting as a house surgeon. A patient was admitted with a hand injury. He was a manual worker, right handed. He had tried to catch a falling carving knife with his right hand. All the fingers were deeply cut at the base of the fingers. The resident surgical officer told me to cut the fingers off, keeping a good flap of skin so that I could sew and leave the scar away from the metacarpal heads. … |
