Popis: | Nowadays, the successful management of potato late blight disease under Egyptian conditions requires evaluating the resistance of common potato cultivars, identifying the Egyptian pathogen population genetically and phenotypically, and testing the effectiveness of the used fungicides. 419 isolates were collected during three growing seasons from eleven governorates. Then we characterized this pathogen phenotypically and we confirmed the presence of both mating types and the tested isolates varied in their reaction from sensitive to intermediate or resistant to metalaxyl which returned on their aggressiveness. From genotypic characterization, obtained results showed that a total of 16 sub- clones of the lineage 23-A1 were detected over the 30 genotyped isolates of Egyptian P. infestans. Cara tubers was quite promising with high tolerance of the disease against the most aggressive isolate.Fungicide treatments can reduce late blight development if applied before the occurrence of infection. |
