'TEACHING TABLES I:' Using Clicker Technology to Promote Active Learning

| Popis: | Clicker technology is becoming more popular on campus as a way to encourage student participation and critical thinking, especially in large classes. This session will focus on three main areas: 1) the nuts and bolts of clicker technology (What is a clicker and how does it work?); 2) student engagement (using clickers to promote an interactive classroom and measure student participation); 3) critical thinking (using clickers to deepen understanding about course material). The presenters are three faculty members in the Administration of Justice Department who will provide concrete examples from their classroom experiences that can be adapted for different disciplines. This will be a hands-on, interactive session and handouts will be provided.
