Surgical correction of the cavovarus foot deformity can be extremely challenging. Not only are you dealing with a very complex foot structure but also understanding the neurological etiology is critical to a successful outcome. Cavovarus deformity can be caused from either static contracture or dynamic contracture. When treating patients with dynamic contractures, where there is a progressive nature to the deformity, long-term outcomes are especially difficult to predict [1]. Static contractures, on the other hand, are easier to predict, and treatment is more straightforward.
