Popis: Falls have become an important public health problem across the world. The aging of populations contributes vigorously to this situation. However, the phenomenon is observable in other age groups. There is evidence that health changes favor the outcome. Objective: knowing the distribution of the event, according to demographic profile, and identify pre-existing conditions could compete for the episode. Methods: exploratory and descriptive study with a convenience sample of eighty-eight individuals, patrons of a public park in the southern area of Sao Paulo; who agreed to participate after positively answer the question "Did you suffer any drop in December? "We studied the prevalence of cases within one year. Results: the falls were more frequent among women (57.3%), the mean age was 45.4 years. They were recognized as pre-existing conditions: visual problems (62.2%), insomnia (31.7%) and hypertension (22.0%). The results are in line with the literature, however detected a huge gap studies the exception of the universe of elderly people. Given this, it is stated the need to deepen research for the episode takes place indifferently in the collectivity.
