Popis: Bullying is one of the biggest challenges faced by schools, and though its form and prevalence may slightly differ from one country to another, it has now been identified as a global phenomenon. While earlier literature and research efforts have led to an understanding of its complex nature, types, antecedents, and consequences, contemporary initiatives need to be focussed upon effectively dealing with the phenomenon in a more pro-active manner. This chapter discusses the prevalence of bullying, the emerging issue of cyberbullying, current findings in terms of gender differences in bullying, and the link between bullying and well-being, and finally explores the role of emotional intelligence skills training in schools, throughout the process of dealing with the phenomenon—from prevention to healing. Moreover, an attempt has been made to look at bullying not just from the perspective of the victims but also from the perspective of the bullies and the bully-victims.
