Home care services take part within the scope of health care system and are becomingin creasingly widespread. The growth of the elderly population in society brings out the need for development and improvement of the quality of life in the health system. Aim of this study is determining the knowledge levels of individuals actively working today about home care services of old age. The population of this research comprise actively working people who are residing in metropolitan cities in Turkey. In total, 656 participants were reached from 17 provinces, which were included in the scope of the research. Data were collected using face-to face survey (using a paper-and-pencil questionnaire) method and analyzed by using SPSS packaged software. According to the results, most known forms of elderly care services are nursing at home, sheltered homes and municipal services, while awareness of day-care services is relatively low. |
