Popis: The interface between carbon fibre and epoxy matrix plays an important role in the mechanical properties of the composite materials. In this study, the micromechanical behaviours of four carbon-epoxy systems are followed by the use of the fragmentation test. The fibre surface are also characterised and the influence of the surface treatment on the fibre surface area and on the chemical activity are discussed. Correlation between fibre surface and interface characteristics are proposed.
