Popis: | Distinction is made between biological, clinical, psychological and social death. In an analysis of death behavior of Mormons for 50 years it was found that their rate is consistently lower than that of the U.S. and Utah. However, it evidences essentially the same change patterns as these two other populations. Although some biases may be operating in the available statistics, Mormons are shown to be responsive to both their church and their society. Mormonism incorporates somewhat distinctive meanings of death and also a strong health code, both of which it is assumed are related to the identified patterns. |
