| Popis: | The results of this review of medial epicondylitis show the limited amount of proven evidence for the various nonoperative treatment modalities. There is evidence for the use of corticosteroid injections to relieve pain in the short-term. The evidence for the use of kinesio taping, autologous blood injections, PRP injections, a wearable, long duration, low-intensity therapeutic ultrasound device and extracorporeal shockwave therapy is either conflicting or showed insubstantial. Further study designs investigating these treatment options should be high quality randomized controlled trials in order to draw more valid conclusions. In addition, any study which includes both patients with medial epicondylitis and patients with lateral epicondylitis should delineate the difference in outcome for each patient type. |
