Popis: | This paper is devoted to the asymmetry ratio of the quadrupole doublet observed on the 14.4 keV Mossbauer transition (I e = 3 2 →I f = 1 2 ) of 57Fe, in a non-cubic site of a diamagnetic or paramagnetic orthorhombic compound. The intensity ratio of the two lines is computed for perfectly aligned powders, imperfectly aligned powders, untwinned single crystals and twinned single crystals. The resulting formulas are discussed in connection with recent experiments performed by various authors on oriented powders and on single crystals of high-Tc superconductors. |
