Popis: The dynamics of the development of the initial phase of the development of the cathode torch in a pulsed discharge in argon in the presence of an external magnetic field is studied experimentally and theoretically. The cathode plasma spectrum contains electrode material vapor lines, the intensity of which is determined by the magnitude of the magnetic field. The kinetic characteristics of electron drift are calculated both in a pure gas and in the presence of metal impurities in an external magnetic field. The calculated the distribution function of electrons in crossed electric and magnetic fields in the range of reduced electric field strength $1 Td and magnetic induction $ T, as well as the average kinetic characteristics of electron drift.
