Disasters as a fact that is forced to live and fight together, to play an important role throughout the known history of mankind. As known that, mechanisms of natural disasters can not be stopped. Therefore, struggle toward the effects of natural disasters has a vital importance. During the study, the areal distributions of natural events that achieved natural disasters level have been investigated at Cankiri province between 1950 and 2010. Natural disasters that are occurred within Cankiri province borders are classified by district-based into four different groups depending on hierarchical clustering analysis. Across the province, district – based density map is created with the distribution of digitizing. As a result of study, from the first group to fourth group, number of natural events that achieved disaster level is increased. This study, which on the scale of Cankiri province, aimed to make a contribution for contemporary urban planning studies. |
