Popis: Introduction Globally, preliminary evidence suggests that the COVID-19 pandemic led to an impairment in non - COVID healthcare, including stroke and transient ischaemic (TIA) attack care. The treatment of both stroke and TIAs are time dependent. Delayed and reduced stroke and TIA presentations can result in increased morbidity and mortality. This protocol outlines a scoping review to map the international evidence on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on acute stroke and TIA care. Methods This scoping review will follow the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Scoping Review Guidelines. Reporting of the review results will be in line with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis extension for scoping reviews (PRISMA-ScR). Electronic databases (Academic Search Complete, Cochrane Library, Coronavirus Research Database, Cumulative Index of Nursing Allied Health Literature, Health & Medical Collection, Psych info, Scopus, Web of Science), grey literature, and consultation with stakeholders will be conducted to identify appropriate literature for inclusion. Key points will be classified and categorised. Thus, a summary of the key characteristics of literature on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on acute stroke and TIA care will be generated. A narrative synthesis will also be presented. Conclusion This scoping review will comprehensively map the available global evidence on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on acute stroke and TIA care.
