Popis: The authors studied the effect of phthivazid on the synthesis of cholesterin in the organism of tuberculous patients. It was established that in the majority of patients (21 of the 24) the therapeutic doses of phthivazid decrease the cholesterin level from 143 mg% (before administration of phthivazid) to 123 mg%, on the average by the third day. With prolonged treatment by phthivazid (one month) the cholesterin level gradually approaches its initial value (but never exceeds it).
