Popis: The parasite fauna of cod (Gadus morhua morhua L.) and pollock (Pollachius virens (L.)) have been studied in two coastal areas: in the Kislaya Inlet, where tidal power plant is situated and in the Ura Inlet. 36 parasite species from eight taxonomic groups were recorded. They are: Myxosporea - 4, Peritricha - 2, Monogenea - 5, Cestoda - 7, Trematoda - 9, Nematoda - 4, Acanthocephala - 2, Copepoda - 3. The characteristics oftheir parasite faunas are given for both fish species separately. Differences in cod and pollock parasite fauna are related to different biology of their hosts and primarily depend on feeding. The age dynamics of cod parasite fauna correspond to age related changes in their ecology, mainly in regime of feeding.
