Popis: | SummarySkin cancer is one of the most common tumors. It occurs mainly on exposed parts ofthe body, with more than 70% of tumors developing on the face.Human skin is a natural living barrier that protects the body from externalinfluences, and therefore it is more than other tissues exposed to adverse environmentaland occupational factors. The purpose of this study was to study the frequency of visits with basal cellcarcinoma based on the analysis of medical records and the Ledger of surgicaloperations at the outpatient Clinic of maxillofacial surgery and dentistry of the NationalMilitary Medical Clinical Center «MMCH».Methods. The main principle of treatment of this disease is surgical extraction ofthe tumor. When extracting basal cell carcinoma, the boundaries of the location andremoval of the formation within visible healthy tissues should be strictly adhered to withpreviously consultation with an oncodermatologist, according to our observations, theedges should deviate by 0.5–1.0 cm. A sign of radical removal of the formation is visiblehealthy tissue, which is confirmed by the result of histological examination (possiblyduring surgery).Results. According to the results of our work, the majority of patients treated weremen (91.7%). Among 24 studied patients, 11% were aged 35–45 years old; 80% were45–65 years old, and 9% were over 65 years old, confirming the fact that most of suchpatients are elderly.Conclusion. Subject to the correct criteria for wound closure and collection ofdonor material, following all recommendations by patients, the result of treatment willbe positive. The positive assessment of the result obtained by the patient is alsoimportant, since most of the tumors were located on the visible part of the face. |
