Popis: | A low-profile surface-mount metal chip antenna with a symmetric planar inverted-F structure suitable for 2.4 GHz WLAN operation is presented. The proposed antenna is obtained by folding a single metal plate which includes several periodic slots and two-pairs of symmetric soldering strips as the feed and short pins. Due to the two-pairs of symmetric feed and short pins, it is more flexible to be integrated in the system circuit board. Besides, the two-pairs of symmetric pins are also the supporter of the proposed antenna, it leads that the proposed antenna doesn't need any base and has higher radiation efficiency due to the air substrate. The height of the proposed antenna is 3 mm only, and the bandwidth reaches 190 MHz. It can easily cover the 2.4 GHz band (2400-2484 MHz). Details of the antenna design and the experimental results for the proposed antenna are presented. |
