Popis: The inclusion of the education area at the annual meetings of the Brazilian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SBBq) in 1993 created important spaces for discussions and improvements in the area. The objective was to describe the history of the works presented in this area between 1993 and 2019. In the exploratory analysis, 435 abstracts were evaluated, identifying several elements, such as contents, regions and methods used. In addition, a content analysis of the work of the two most discussed areas was done. Most of the studies were from the Brazilian southeast region (64.72 %), and from the total, 32,6 % addressed qualitative aspects, 14,3 % quantitative and 27,2 % quali-quantitative. The most studied topics were Biochemistry teaching (119 works) and metabolism (104 works), most in the context of undergraduate teaching. The use of software as the most used didactic strategy was highlighted in these two areas. The most used didactic resources in the subject of Biochemistry Teaching were texts (31.9 %) and, in Metabolism, games (24 %). This work allowed the creation of a general historical panorama of the works, allowing an understanding of their origins and procedures, from which new aspects of analysis can be deepened.
