Using calculations which are based on the measurement of pre-pulse electron density we find that the initial impedance of the active part of a laser discharge tube will be very low: several Ohm. Meanwhile we can see that the initial time interval voltage on the laser tube amounts to some kV. At the same time the current has very low value, and in any case it has less value than that of the corresponding ratable plasma impedance. For an initial time interval electron-ion collisions may play a vital part if electrons have low energy because cross-section of this process increases very fast with diminution of electron energy. This must increase initial plasma resistance. |
