Popis: A method is described for evaluating the axial shear strength characteristics of pretensioned joints made by a method that employs heat. The method is valid for small numbers of tests and makes use of the first limiting distribution of minimum values. Linear unbiased independent estimates of the parameters of the distribution are proposed for any distribution function of the form F[(S−S0)/Β], these estimates being optimum for any distribution of a sample of volume two.
