| Popis: | Continuing a discussion initiated by Rudolf Majut, it is shown, first, that Majut was mistaken in assuming that Buchner's Dantons Tod could have been influenced by Gautier's Mademoiselle de Maupin; second, that he was right in suggesting a relationship between Gautier's novel and Buchner's Leonce und Lena; third, that a quotation of Buchner's which Majut supposed to be derived from Gautier is in fact derived from Beaumarchais's Le Mariage de Figaro; and fourth, that the relation of Buchner to Beaumarchais may merit further study. |
