Popis:	Studies on selective hydrogenation of dienic and acetylenic hydrocarbons and their derivatives on metal-containing catalysts are reviewed. The review covers publications over a wide period of time and concentrates on the fundamental principles of catalyst operation. The catalysts modified in the surface layer were shown to be promising for selective hydrogenation.
