Popis: 1. Two types of sulfide are formed in commercial vanadium steels with0.5% Mn even with a high vanadium content (∼3%). Manganese sulfides that contain almost no vanadium are precipitated in these steels. 3. The form of manganese sulfide inclusions in vanadium steels varies with the carbon content from pellicular to oval, while in high-carbon steels the sulfides are faceted. 4. A substantial part of the large (“eutectic”) vanadium carbides dissolve in the austenite formed at high temperatures in medium-and high-carbon vanadium steels of commercial purity, with spheroidization of sulfides and undissolved carbides.
