Popis: that absence of a LPV on CTA or MRA does not preclude the possibility of successful mesoRex bypass. Transjugular portal venogram, although an invasive procedure, had the best overall accuracy (0.85), sensitivity (1.0) and positive predictive value (0.83). Doppler ultrasound was less accurate and sensitive than other modalities. CONCLUSION: Non invasive preoperative imaging studies in children with EHPVO are not accurate at predicting success in doing the meso-Rex bypass. CTA or MRA are useful for operative planning but have a low negative predictive value and should not be used to exclude patients. Transjugular portal venogram is the most accurate predictor of success when more definitive preoperative determination of LPV patency is required. Table 1.
